Brian S. Montanari, an internationally recognized leader in Lean implementation, is one of the founders of Lean Depot LLC. He gained his Lean knowledge and experience at The Wiremold Company, a National Shingo Prize recipient.
Brian held leadership positions at C&M Corporation, Respironics Novametrix, and HID Global, which was awarded the CT Shingo Prize. He is currently chief operating officer for HABCO, Inc., where he is charged with leading the company’s business development strategy and Lean initiatives.
Brian has published numerous articles on Lean, received international recognition for Lean implementations, and teaches Lean Management at Eastern Connecticut State University. He serves on the board of directors for the Association of Manufacturing Excellence, is a member of Connecticut’s Shingo Prize Advisory Committee, and serves on the Connecticut Business and Industry Association steering committee for the Lean/Supply Chain Certificate program. Brian earned his MBA from Central Connecticut State University and bachelor’s degree in finance from Siena College.

Paul Murphy is a principal at Lean Depot LLC. His “Pull” learning approach combined with instantaneous implementation techniques have led to a high level of innovative, employee driven implementations and solutions that stick.
Before starting Lean Depot, Paul spent over 15 years in engineering, sales, manufacturing and quality related functions in companies in the northeast. He has held various management positions from plant manager to vice president of sales and engineering. Over the past 10 years he has been involved in living and leading lean transformations at a number of companies, including Bridgeport machines, C&M Corporation and HID Corporation. His dynamic, hands-on approach has resulted in substantial, sustained results in a rapid time frame. The Lean transformation he facilitated at C&M was featured in AME’s target magazine in 2001 as “a company with a rapid rate of improvement.”
Paul is knowledgeable in all aspects of Lean manufacturing from setting up KANBAN systems, 5S, and value stream management to running SMED events. He has also been able to extend the Lean transformation across the Enterprise by introducing lean principles into sales, engineering and accounting functions.
Paul holds a Degree in Production Engineering from the University of Limerick in Ireland and an MBA in business management from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. Professional affiliations include the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) and the American Society for Quality Control (ASQC).
